Surveys conducted over the years clearly show that 60-70% of people (and businesses) do not backup their data every day, or even regularly. (Do you??) - Backups that do get done are almost never encrypted, leaving the person or company vulnerable in the event of theft or loss of the backup tapes/CDs, or the USB "drives" that get lost all the time...
